The Rapidly Growing Sport Compact Industry

Sport compacts, where they have been and where they are going The sport compact industry has been around for some time now, starting back with cars like the Toyota Celica and the Acura Integra. Most of us never really noticed it or at least realized how big it was going to become. Before not to long ago if you wanted to build a hot rod the question was are you a Chevy man, a Ford guy or a Mopar lover. But in this day and age, with gas prices at an all time high and unsurpassed technology, you have to ask yourself, “Import or domestic?” And today all the big manufacturers have at least one good choice for a performance build. Alot of those choices being compact cars! Don’t get me wrong there are still muscle cars available on the market, it seems now more then ever. With Chevy introducing the 2010 Camaro and Dodge with the all new Challenger, the muscle car industry is alive and kicking. Some of us are cubic inch fans, where all we care about is how much motor we can fit under the hood. But at the same time with the Chevy Cobalt SS with the supercharged Ecotec which can easily be modified in to a 500hp race engine or the Dodge Neon SRT-4 we definitely have the choice. Unlike before if you wanted to build a sport compact your choices where very limited. It was pretty much an Acura Integra, Honda Civic or a Nissan 240sx. This is all because of the noise the sport compact industry has made, and the attention it has received from it. With the sport compact industry growing the amount it has over the last 5 to 6 years it’s obvious why the domestic car companies have jumped in on the action. Which brings us a new challenge, finding the performance parts we are looking for to build the sport compact of our choice. For example when trying to buy a header for a 2004 Chevy Cavalier, it was impossible to just walk in to my local hot rod store or car parts store and find it on the shelf. Ordering online was pretty much the only option. Of course every city is different and we can be sure there are stores out there to find the part you’re looking for. Also I’ve personally noticed import performance parts are a little easier to find. So as you can imagine the webstores that sell sport compact performance parts are popping up constantly. But a good mechanic isn’t always the best website designer! So when you find a well designed store that’s easy to navigate and consumer friendly with great customer service, it’s something to take note of. With a love for sport compacts and a vast knowledge of the web, I have hopefully solved all of our problems of finding our performance parts. Here at CompacTuner. com we carry every kind of performance part for you sport compact from intake to exhaust. Including body kits, neon & L. E. D. lighting, dash trim kits and audio equipment. So whether your building a Honda Civic V-tec, a Nissan 350z or a Ford Focus SVT browse through our inventory at http://www. compactuner. com and see how we are making the sport compact industry grow even faster.

Sport Compacts Are a Win Win Situation

Sport Compact cars are definitely a “win win” situation. With gas prices rising and the economy falling, sport compacts are a great way to change with the times. Some of us don’t think to much about the car we drive except that it runs good. For those of us who like to drive a car that matches our personality; modifications and upgrades are a must. There was a time when it might have been practical to drive a 1969 Dodge Challenger, and with a little bit of money and some elbow grease we could definitely express ourselves. Now the only place to find old American Muscle Cars is in a car show or garage. But now with the rise of the sport compact it is possible to build and own a hot rod without going broke. Here are some of the reasons the sport compact industry is growing by leaps and bounds, 1. Gas mileage 2. Purchase price 3. Modification options 4. Choice As anyone who loves horsepower knows it comes with a cost, and with our belts tightening everyday, it is nice to be able to make it further than to work and back on a tank of gas. Next, muscle cars have always carried that high sticker price, especially compared to a Honda Civic! As far as finding parts, with all the attention the sport compact industry has received lately, performance parts and accessories have become surprisingly easy to find. Lastly, ever car manufacturer has put out at least one or two great choices for a sport compact build. So whether you are a Chevy lover, Mopar enthusiast or an import fan like Toyota or Honda you can find a price on a good gas mileage sporty little car to make your own. With a love for sport compacts and a vast knowledge of the web, I have hopefully solved all of our problems of finding our performance parts. Here at CompacTuner. com we carry every kind of performance part for you sport compact from intake to exhaust. Including body kits, neon & L. E. D. lighting, dash trim kits and audio equiptment. Men and Machines

Advanced Step In Innovative Mobility (Asimo) is one of a very few robots that can walk reliably on two legs. It is fitted with twin cameras in its head and is powered by 34 individual motors. Lately, researchers at the Honda Research Institute has demonstrated the invention by using it to move the arms and legs of an Asimo humanoid robot. Honda hopes that by 2020 the robot will be in the market, affordable and capable enough, to help with simple tasks. An elaborate electronic helmet will allow the wearer to control a robot by thought alone. The person wearing the helmet only have to think about making the movement. Its inventors hope that one day the mind-control technology will allow people to do things like turn air conditioning on or off and open their car boot without putting their shopping down. The helmet combines two different techniques for picking up activity in the brain. Sensors in the helmet detect electrical signals through the scalp in the same way as a standard electroencephalogram. The scientists combined this with another technique called near-infrared spectroscopy, which can be used to monitor changes in blood flow in the brain. Brain activity picked up by the helmet is sent to a computer, which uses software to work out which movement the person is thinking about. It then sends a signal to the robot commanding it to perform the move. Typically, it takes a few seconds for the thought to be turned into a robotic action. This is being seen as landmark in the science of robotics Lately, researchers at the Honda Research Institute have demonstrated the invention by using it to move the arms and legs of an Asimo humanoid robot. Honda hopes that by 2020 the robot will be in the market, affordable and capable enough, to help with simple tasks.
